I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy and sports injury prevention expert with 20 years of experience working with active people and mountain athletes. I'm a speaker, writer, and consultant for ski industry professionals - helping organizations like the National Ski Patrol and PSIA reduce injuries and enhance performance across their memberships.
For years, my work focused on rehabilitation: helping people recover after injury, get back to snow, and return to the sports they love. And while I love helping through this stage, I realized that there was so much that I could teach people before they get injured, that could have helped them avoid their injury.
The truth is, most knee injuries on the snow are preventable.
The tears, the surgeries, the months of recovery, the seasons lost - the majority of injuries are the result of specific, addressable weaknesses that nobody had ever trained. Weak hips. Poor neuromuscular control. Movement patterns that looked fine until the terrain got hard or the body got tired.
So I shifted my focus from rehabilitation to prevention - what I call "prehab." And what I discovered changed everything: when you train proactively, with the right exercises designed for your specific sport, pain resolves. Confidence returns. Performance improves. And injuries become the exception rather than the rule.
ACL Strong began as a program specifically to reduce ACL injuries in skiers. Over time it evolved into something more complete - a comprehensive system to build knee health, total body durability, and the physical foundation for a long, active, pain-free life on the mountain.
This is the program I wish every skier had access to before they needed me for rehab.
